Biography

Olivier Brucelle has gained a large experience over 25 years in Materials and Processes trough positions in several Companies, engineer in the research center of Usinor Sacilor (now Arcelor Mittal), research engineer in fuel division at AREVA, head of metallurgy department at the forging division of Aubert & Duval in Pamiers. Olivier joined Ratier-Figeac in 2008 as head of metallic materials and special processes. During his time with Ratier-Figeac, he has launched more than 20 R&D projects on several topics hexavalent chromium substitution on surface treatment, additive manufacturing, and surface hardening. Olivier has made important contributions in the areas of development of non-hexavalent chromium protection for aluminium alloys. During his career Olivier has contributed 25+ scientific publications, he has three patents. He is a member of the GIFAS technical group working on materials and processes, the GIFAS REACh Group, the ASD and is a member of the scientific committee of the SURFAIR Congress. Olivier holds a degree from the French engineering university, Ecole des Mines d’Albi, and a PhD from Institut National Polytechnique de Toulouse. His thesis dealt with studying microstructure corrosion relationship for the Inconel 718 in Power Water Reactor simulated media.
